| Two British companies are the preferred bidders for the large site which
includes nearly one hundred houses, an airfield, and other buildings,
including the modern Halsey School.
Property consultants, Ryden, said an announcement is expected sometime in
December. It is expected around four hundred jobs could be created.
Angus Council said they were waiting confirmation before commenting.
More homes could be built on the site and the various hangars rented out for
small companies and storage. A flying club has even been suggested.
The area had a Royal Flying Corps base to the north during W.W.I., an RAF
base during 1939-59, and a US Navy base from 1960-97. | Cheers Eric Walker, Brechin Home Page | |
