Roger and Dale,
I am truly impressed with the changes you have made to the site. I hope that many friends will be reunited because of it. some of the names I can recall from the period I was there (79-84) are:

Dale,
You and your cohort have done us Edzell vets a tremendous service. your web site has taken off since Rob Rude put it out the Cryppie Vets. I've sent it on to a Dentist, Chaplain, Supply Officer, Corpsman (and CT wife) etc. I've gotten one note from a guy I worked with a few years back as a civilian whom I'd lost touch with.
Thanks for hanging in there and getting the site on-line. Jim Hitchcock (Edzell 76-79 32 Div, 50 Dept) Chaplain Starling checked in and says "Nice Start!!"

Great idea, Great site. Ken Pine (CMTCS RET) dropped me the address to the site, and I was amazed at how many people I knew in your guest book. I am moving to South Carolina in a couple of months, and I will be changing E-Mail addresses, but would love to be listed in your friends section for now. I will update you with the new address when I get it. Once again, great job on the site, and keep up the good work.

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
Just the thought of Edzell brings back wonderful memories....In fact, where I sit here at my computer I'm surounded by photos of Edzell and the country side....the Edzell Arch, the Blue Door bridge and Donador Castle....thanks for putting this page on the internet.
From Honkawonka@aol.com on June 21, 1997

I've already found a couple of people in your guestbook that I knew between 62 & 95, and am always looking for more. Those years are all history now, but I'm the type that loves to relive it now and then. I think the site is one of the best, and am sorry to see such a place be taken off the map as far as duty stations go.
From Susie Saul on July 24, 1997

Who ever came up with web site should get a medal. This is absolutely wonderful. I have found five people I was stationed with in the 60"s. I'lm as time goes on I will find more but this is fantastic. Many many attaboys for this one. CUDOS CUDOS CUDOS......
From Jim Tibbets on September 24, 1997

It was truly one of the best times of my life, and I am happy to see that I am not alone in that feeling. I am looking forward to exploring the page in a few minutes, but I just wanted to thank you for creating it and touch base with someone else who shared in that experience. Have a great day and cheers!

Hey Dale, you dont know me, the name is Earl Burton. However, I heard at work today about the "Edzell" home page and came home and had to check it out. I have only one word to say ...... OUTSTANDING/STU/4.0 (you get the point). I have noticed that several people span several decades. I would like to be included in that list as well. Althought I was stationed in Edzell from early 76 to late 78, I got a job here in DC (Naval Research Laboratory) and have gone back MANY times since as a civilian tech-rep. In fact, from Sept of 89 - Feb 90 I was there so that would legally span me across all 3 decades.
I think this is fantastic !!!! I have already found 3 people tonight that I have been trying to locate for years.
MANY MANY thanks, your efforts are appreciated. My only regret is that I didnt hear about it sooner and I would have certainly gone to the reunion. I have come to find out that there were several people there that I knew. Oh well, next time ......... Again, many thanks, keep up the good work !!!!!!!

I enjoy this site more than anyone can ever believe having been to Edzell twice.
Anyway other than I just wanted to say thank you for the beautiful websight about Edzell. Still waiting for information on that yearbook!!!!!
From David Brady on 11 Nov 1997

Thanks so much for setting up that wonderful website. I am spreading the word about it here at Feltwell. There are quite a few of us here from edzell who will be checking in. Three of the Halsey teachers in Edzell live in the small English town of Methwold. The only thing we need is sheep, hills, bagpipes, nice Scots and we'll feel like we;re at home.
From Mary-Alice Hurlburt on 18 Nov 97

Just wanted you to know that I appreciate the effort you have put in to developing and maintaining the Edzell site. I frequent the site quite often to check to see if old shipmates have logged into the guest book, read news articles, etc. My wife and I sure do miss Scotland, and hope someday to return. In the meantime, I will continue logging onto your site and reminicising. Thanks,

Just wanted to let you know that thanks to this website I found a friend I haven't seen for almost fifteen years when he was just a young pup and dating my sister!! I am a local living in the US courtesy of the US Navy and I love the Edzell connection! I worked on the base for 13 years, many of the names are familiar to me and I have found many people I thought I would never talk to again, never mind have over to dinner as happened this week with the aforementioned young (or not so young now...) man. Many thanks - keep up the good work!!

Roger and Dale, Good job on this site. CTOCM Brian Remick told me about it and a great discovery it was. Building it, and maintaining it is work. So, on behalf of many others, thanks.
From CTTCM(SW) Jimmy Sandlin on 1 Aug 1998

Hello, I was checking out your site on RAF Edzell. I was stationed there from 1984 to 1986 with the USMC and have many great memories serving under Major Lewis and Gunnery Sergeant Kennin. I just wanted to say that I appreciate what you've done to bring back some more of those great times. Thanks!
From Robert L. Gagnon II on 3 Aug 1998

Thank you for bringing back so many memories. I was stationed at Edzell from 78-80 as a Seabee at Public Works. Then from 86-94 as a civilian working for Fred Stewart at NAVELEX. I married a Scottish girl and we have 2 girls, age 10 and 7.
From Nick and Vera Bouchey on 14 Sep 1998

Just went through the "Memories" pages and...yes it does bring them back. I knew most of the people listed on the duty roster (page one) and the map is as I remember it. The "Acey-Duecy" Card is a bit of a puzzle though - what had been the Acey-Duecy Club was changed to the "Casual Lounge" in either late '72 or early '73. I know, because I worked the bars - EM Club, Chief's Club, and The Casual Lounge - and I never saw anything like it. ???
From Bert Van Laer on 19 Sep 1998

I was one of RAF edzell early members from May 1963 to Aug 65 and sorry to see it closed. The crew was great USN and Marines alike. I like the site and a lot of the names bring back memories. I just came back from Scotland Sept 30 and the people are still great. Keep up the good work friends and good memories are getting scarce in todays world.
From Larry Damron on 20 Oct 1998

You guys are wonderful. I just discovered the Edzell Connection and have already contacted seven people that I have not seen in 20 years. My hat is off to you. Awesome!
From Robert Morris on 20 Feb 1999

I've been reunited with so many old friends, thanks to you. This is definitely my favourite site!
From Jennie Shane 21 Feb 1999

I heard the news that Edzell had closed its gates and went into the history pages......my heart is broke. I spent four years there (1975 through 1979) and considered Edzell the crown jewel of my career in the Navy.
From Frank Springer CTA1, USN (Retired) on 17 May 1999

Thanks, again, gentlemen for this great web site. You both need hero buttons for allowing all of us to stay in contact with so many old shipmates and friends. Well done and keep up the good work.
From Don Hill (again) on March 11, 2002
I just wanted to write and tell you that your website brought back some wonderful memories. I was in the Navy Reserve and stationed at Edzell from Feb. 1967 to June 1968. I had a great time there and loved the country and the people. I went back to visit during college in 1971. Truly a great place and super memories for me. Thanks for the great site. Mike Whitman CT"R
